Celebrate the Season 2013
- Published: September 15, 2013 September 15, 2013
“Celebrate the Season” will launch December 6 and 7, 2013 at the Port of Anacortes Event Center.
This is the first major fundraiser for Anacortes Schools Foundation. “Celebrate the Season” is actually a series of activities. It’s a great opportunity to do a bit of shopping for unique gifts, and/or take a special photo with Santa in his sleigh. Begin a new family tradition, and benefit our students at the same time!
Public Days feature photos with Santa, handmade gift sales, crafts, food and more . . .
The public is invited to come visit our holiday decorated space on Friday, December 6 from 11 am to 5:30 pm, and again on Saturday, December 7 from noon to 2 pm.
Gingerbread contests are featured event on Friday, December 6
Come watch our gingerbread contests. Adult teams will battle it out from 11 am to 3 pm. Student teams will compete from 3:00 pm to 5 pm. Our judges panel will finalize their decisions and all will head to the Chamber of Commerce Tree Lighting ceremony for the announcement of awards at 5:30 pm
On Saturday after the Lion’s Club holiday parade, we will again be open to the public for fun, food, crafts and individuals can decorate their own gingerbread houses.
Papa Murphy pizza trailer will be on hand throughout our public days.
“Dream It Dinner” is the finale event on Saturday, December 7
This fun evening is open to the whole community – business leaders, retired residents, parents, teachers . . . young and old. We’ll celebrate the season with great food, drink, a lively “raise the paddle auction” and dance in our seats or on our feet to the A-Town Big Band featuring our own school district band director Ian Simensen. For $35 a seat, it will be a memorable evening. Tickets should be purchased in advance.
Tickets for public days are just $5/individuals or $20/family. All tickets are available at John L. Scott Realty, Read Me a Story or Johnny Picasso.
