Adams/Fox Memorial Scholarship (Formerly the Joe Fox Award)

  • Scholarship Established: 2001
  • MEMORIAL
Established in honor of Bud and Betty Adams and Bob and Shirley Fox, this scholarship celebrates their enduring commitment to community, resilience, and lifting up those who face challenges.

Bud Adams touched countless lives as a youth baseball coach in Anacortes, dedicating over twenty years to mentoring young athletes. With a big heart and a keen ability to recognize strengths in others, Bud was a champion of the underdog—both on the field and in life. He believed in the power of encouragement, shaping young players into not just better athletes, but better people.

Shirley Fox had a boundless love for music, reading, art, and gardening. She instilled in her family a passion for nature, adventure, social justice, education, and the healing power of community. She believed deeply in the transformative power of knowledge, kindness, and perseverance.

The Adams and Fox families embody compassion, resilience, and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to succeed. This scholarship honors their legacy by supporting students who have faced adversity and persevered, helping them pursue their dreams with the same strength and determination that these families have long inspired in others.
